Los Angeles and the Denver Broncos will face off in an AFC West battle at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. Los Angeles doesn’t have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 3-point advantage in the spread.
Both the Chargers and the Broncos will try to snap a two-game losing streak when Los Angeles visits Sports Authority Field in Denver on Sunday afternoon. This isn’t the first time the two squads have met this season, either. The Broncos edged out the Chargers 20-13 the first time around, which happened to be Denver’s first win of the year. The Chargers came up short against the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago, falling 24-17. No one had a big game offensively for the Chargers, but they got one touchdown from QB Philip Rivers.
Meanwhile, Denver ended up a good deal behind the Buffalo Bills when they played last week, losing 20-3. QB Brandon Allen had a rough afternoon: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with only 3.28 yards per passing attempt.
This next contest is expected to be close, with Los Angeles going off at just a 3-point favorite. They may be expected to win, but bettors beware: they are only 1-5-1 against the spread when favored.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Los Angeles rank fourth in the league when it comes to yards allowed per game, with only 317.5 on average. As for Denver, they come into the game boasting the fourth fewest touchdowns allowed in the league at 19. We’ll find out if either of these strengths ends up making the difference in the matchup.
